Who we are
&
What we do

Welcome to ShnoGadar.com
— a platform dedicated to sharing the stories, history, and heart of Shno, a city known officially as Oshnaviyeh by the Iranian government, but known proudly by its people as Shno.

This site is a tribute to the city’s rich past, vibrant present, and everything that makes it special — from its ancient roots and breathtaking countryside, to its unique culture, natural beauty, and the personal stories of those who’ve lived in or visited Shno.

What You’ll Find Here

  • History: We explore Shno’s deep and layered history — from ancient times to modern day. It’s a place shaped by generations, by resilience, and by a culture that continues to thrive.

  • Stories: One of our core missions is to gather and share personal stories from anyone connected to Shno. Whether you were born there, have family roots in the region, or visited and left with a memory — your story matters, and we want to hear it.

  • Nature & Culture: Shno is more than a city. It’s a region full of life — from its surrounding villages and countryside to the fruits, fields, mountains, and traditions that make it truly unique. We want to highlight it all.

Why “ShnoGadar”?

The name ShnoGadar comes from the Gadar River, which flows on the side of the city of Shno. Just as the river connects the land, the people, and the stories — this site aims to connect everything that defines Shno: its history, its people, its landscapes, and its culture.

ShnoGadar.com is more than a website — it’s a living collection of voices, memories, and truths from a place that holds meaning for so many. We invite you to explore, to learn, and if you can, to share your own story.

Thank you for being here.
